Transfer your domains

Bring one or more domains to us: we check right away which ones can be transferred and what it costs.

One per line, up to 50.

How it works

  1. 1

    Unlock the domain

In your current provider's panel, remove the transfer lock and request the AuthInfo code.

  2. 2

    Start the transfer

Enter the domain and the code: we check the details and send the request to the registry.

  3. 3

    Confirm

For many extensions the registrant receives a confirmation email. Your domain stays online throughout.

What you need to get started

  • The domain unlocked at your current provider
  • The transfer code (AuthInfo), which your provider must give you
  • Access to the registrant's email, to confirm the request

Questions about transfers

How do I transfer a domain from another provider?

Ask your current provider for the authorisation code (AuthInfo or EPP) and make sure the domain is unlocked. Then start the transfer on our website by entering the domain and the code.

How long does a transfer take?

It depends on the extension and the losing provider: some transfers complete within minutes, others take a few days. You can follow the status from the control panel.

Will my website or email stop working during the transfer?

Usually not: the nameservers stay the same and the domain keeps working. If you use the losing provider’s DNS, we recommend recreating your records with us before changing nameservers.

Does a transfer extend the expiry date?

For many extensions the transfer includes a one-year renewal added to the current expiry date. For .it, the transfer does not change the expiry date.
